We are all connected...

I celebrate myself, and sing myself,
And what I assume you shall assume,
For every atom belonging to me as good belongs to you.
(Walt Whitman)

My daughter and I recently took my maternal grandmother to lunch to celebrate her 79th birthday. As I downloaded these pictures, I was struck by the fact that these two people both contain the very same cells I do. We are all connected. It's all happening at once. We are old, young and middle at the same time. Our memories and experiences are intertwined at the deepest level. None of us are alone. We have nothing to fear. Parts of us will always contain youth and old age. It's all right there, in a restaurant, in the Claremont Village.

Then, of course, we ate chocolate cake to celebrate ourselves!
